1. God created you

  • Psalm 139:13-16
  • Leader Notes
      • 1. The God of the Bible is clearly Omnipotent, meaning, He is all powerful. He alone created everybody and everything.
      • 2. God intricately planned you and has a plan for your life from the very beginning. Though God used biology to physically form you, His Spirit brought a deeper life, a meaning filled life overflowing with purpose.
      • 3. When we interpret things through a spiritual and biblical lens and not a poitcal lens, The people of God must be compassionately pro-life.
    • Question for reflection
  • How would holding your most politically held views in light of Scripture and the Spirit of God impact how you see the world and the people around you?

2. Behold the image of God

  • Jeremiah 1:5
  • Leader Notes
      • 1. Created in the image of God means every single  living human being is a living embodiment of God.
      • 2. One thing we all have in common is that we all need God’s grace. Though we still have a sinful nature, we can still reflect the image of God by how we treat one another.
      • 3. Regardless of how people vote and what they prefer, as Christians we must love people without guile or reservation because they too are created in the image of God.
    • Question for reflection:
  • Because we are all created in the image of God, there must be a basic level of love that we must give to all people no matter how much they might frustrate us. Who is one person in your life that you need to love in a biblical God-honoring way? When do you plan to start?

3. Be written in God’s book

  • Genesis 1:26-28a, Revelation 20:11-15
  • Leader Notes
      • If we were to be judged according to our own works of righteousness, no one would enter into the Kingdom of God.
      • Salvation is a free gift that we must receive from God. The Book of Life is God’s holy ledger which miraculously logs those who have made decisions for Jesus. We need to be written in God’s book.
      • The Second Death is something believers in Jesus need not experience.Born once means you die twice, but born twice, that is to be both physically born and then spiritually born in Jesus, you only die once!
    • Question for reflection:
  • Your life is designed for impact, how we walk through this life matters to God. How will you approach your week in light of the fact that everyone is created in God’s image and He has a very real plan for your life?

Optional Follow-up Questions:

  • What makes you say that?
  • How do you feel about that?
  • How would you explain your answer to a non-Christian friend or neighbor?
  • Why did God design it to work that way? Why not just do (whatever else) instead?
  • What would you say to someone who disagrees with that?
  • Why do we really have to do it like that? Why can’t we just go (some other route) instead?
