1. Jesus’ mission is restoration

  • Scripture reference: Isaiah 61:1-4
  • Leader Notes
    • 1. Jesus always invites us to step into the life that He has created for us.
    • 2. At Crossroads we have seen over 300 people receive Jesus this year and over 100 follow Him into the waters of baptism.
    • 3. Revival happens when Jesus draws people for the first time and when calls them to take fresh steps of faith.
  • Question for reflection: Jesus’ mission is restoration. In what ways does the mission of Jesus inspire you to lead a different life?

2. Let’s be a fully engaged family

  • Scripture reference: Isaiah 61:1-4
  • Leader Notes
    • 1. We believe in the priesthood of all believers.
    • 2. Because fasting helps us focus on who Jesus is and what He is asking us to do, a church that fasts is offensive and dangerous to the enemy.
    • 3. Jesus has set us apart, and Jesus asks us to set ourselves apart. Fasting is how we set ourselves apart for Jesus and His mission.
  • Question for reflection: What are some ways that Jesus is asking you to be more engaged? Why?

3. Let’s invite everyone

  • Scripture reference: Isaiah 61:1-4
  • Leader Notes
    • 1. Let’s invite everyone to come and join the work that Jesus is asking everyone to do.
    • 2. There is no stigma behind getting the help we all need. Small groups are how we grow and mature.
  • Question for reflection: Who will you connect with this week and invite to join the Crossroads family? How will you be praying for these people? When will you reach out to them?

Optional Follow-up Questions:

  • What makes you say that?
  • How do you feel about that?
  • How would you explain your answer to a non-Christian friend or neighbor?
  • Why did God design it to work that way? Why not just do (whatever else) instead?
  • What would you say to someone who disagrees with that?
  • Why do we really have to do it like that? Why can’t we just go (some other route) instead?
